Better Health for Specific Groups
Advance efforts to improve the health of specific populations
We believe young children, pregnant women, older adults and groups that experience systemic barriers to health should have access to overall better health and health care. Our strategies for supporting better health for specific populations are:
Supporting efforts to improve the health of Maine children, focusing on early childhood and infant and maternal mortality.
Improving the health of Maine’s older adults, focusing on health care linked to mental health care, as well as social services and community support
Supporting groups that experience health inequities to build capacity to improve health in their communities
Participating in cross-sector efforts to address social determinants of health (such as transportation, food security, and housing)
